What & Why
I want to provide ample competitive opportunities for our Hayward players. In Hayward, our summer development opportunities have some room for improvement and I'd like to get things moving. Our kids shouldn't have to look to other cities for quality opportunities.
Why Are You Starting This So Early?
I'm purposely starting this work very early because we've struggled in Hayward in the past with a plan, communication, and some structure for summer baseball for our older players. That has resulted in players heading off to different travel teams in different cities and an overall lackluster experience for the others who want to play.
So, if you've played on other traveling teams out of town in the past, please consider that I'm going to build some opportunities for our own kids here.
What Types of Games?
This will include some mix of weekend tourneys and mid-week games. I don't know what the age breakdowns will be and certainly don't know exact schedules yet. I suspect we'll have some combined age games and some more specific age tourneys.
